Warriors take care of business to defeat Hounds 6-1
(05/01/08)It wasn't until the third inning that the EPC punched across their first run in their 3A-3 district conference tournament semi-final match with Marmaduke Monday afternoon at Brookland. But once they started scoring, the Warriors didn't let up as they took the contest 6-1 to set up a conference finals game with Corning last night (Tuesday)...

"Overall it was a very good week," said Wright. "We won all of them and that's six in a row now to make us 8-5."... 
Lady Warriors beat Piggott 3-2 for first win of season
(03/27/08)Tribune Sports Staff Hailey Shankle walked her first batter in the Lady Warriors' third game of the year against Piggott Monday at Lepanto. But of the next 21 who came to the plate in five innings, she fanned 15 of them to secure EPC's first win of the season, 3-2. The win was somewhat in question late, though, as Cara Pilgrim had to break a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fifth to gain the victory and put the Lady Warriors at 1-2 on the season...
Indians drop first Xtra Innings game, but comes back with two wins
(03/27/08) Tribune Sports Staff For Marked Tree, the Xtra Innings tournament started out great as they took on Westside Greers Ferry at Valley View last Friday night. At least it went well for the first five innings as the Indians built a 3-0 lead on some very solid play. But then the six inning happened... 
Warriors go 2-1 in Xtra Innings Classic now 8-3 on year
(03/27/08)Tribune Sports Staff EPC finished 2-1 in the annual Xtra Innings Classic Friday and Saturday, defeating McCrory and Woodlawn in their first and last games, but dropping their middle game to Forrest City. Due to the rains, the Warriors didn't take the field until Friday. The did, however, have the advantage of playing both the Jaguars and Mustangs in Trumann rather than in Paragould as originally scheduled...
Lady Indians go 1-1 to end week
(03/21/08) Tribune Sports Staff Marked Tree picked up its second win of the season against five losses Thursday against BIC, as Hannah Ghant returned to the lineup with a vengeance, striking out 12 batters for a 7-4 victory on Lady Indian field. "It was the first game back for Hannah and she did well," said coach Waylon Dunn. "We did some things good, hit the ball well. But we made some errors and we need to correct that."... 
Indians get second win of season against Bay Monday
(03/21/08)Tribune Sports Staff After a week loaded with rain-outs, the Indians finally got back on the diamond when they traveled to Bay for a conference game Monday afternoon, registering their second win of the season against four loses. The scoring started quickly when John Ed Turpin slammed a home run over left center from his clean-up hole to knock in Will Johnson, who had gained base through a fielder's choice, and Clint Hawkins, who had banged out a double. ...
